Kyle, David, and I went to Macklemore's concert at MSU last week, and I apologize I have yet to let you all know how it turned out!
To put it simple, it was incredible.
We started out the trip by grabbing some breakfast and throwing on our crazy outfits. Kyle wore camo straight pants, a black obey A tank, and a black sports jacket. David's outfit started as black on black, with a gold tie, but turned into, by the end of the morning, a denim button up, khaki's and his brown boots. I wore a white corset, gold leggings, and a fur coat I bought at a thrift store for $12. I curled my pink locks, and sported a Katy Perry glory roll.
When I say the concert was incredible, I must admit it didn't start out that way... At all. When we got to msu, it was FREEZING. Like White Christmas in mid march. Just thinking about it gives me chills. We ran from this damp cold car garage to Kyle's bud's dorm. We warmed up, then took a local cab to meet up with a few friends. After receiving odd looks, after odd looks, Kyle and I decided to strut like it didn't matter, which proved to be the smartest idea on a college campus, while dressing like celebrities. We definitely enjoyed ourselves.
It wasn't until an hour later that we made our way to the stadium, which was quite packed already. Lines for the merch table were wrapped around the entire outer bowl, it was ridiculous. We met Ben's fiance' who was selling the merch, which was cool, and we saw quite a few people decked in thrift store apparel. David & I were proud, aha.
Our seats weren't all that bad, but for as big of fans, as the 3 of us are, we weren't about to sit where our seats told us too. We definitely ninja'd our way to the front without to much hassle. The first jump we made over railings was to the base, outer loop, and the second jump took awhile due to security. We had to wait til Macklemore mentioned how stupid the seating chart was, for the crowd to go crazy enough for us to make the second jump. -Which we owned, btw.
With a lot of squeezing, jumping, sliding under a couple rows of chairs, and tripping over a few fur coats, we made it to the front without any broken bones, or bloody noses. Yay! The concert was perfect. Ben & Ryan both did incredible, and nothing could have gone any better. By the end of the concert I had held Ryan's hand, blown, and received a few kisses from my darling, Ray Dalton. and also had the fan girl moment of catching a stage towel from the main man himself. We walked out of that stadium shaking with excitement, and contentment. I couldn't have been happier with the way it turned out. Definitely a highlight of this year.
If Macklemore & Ryan make it to your state, I highly recommend you taking the trip to see them.
I've never been more impressed with a performance, and positive stage presence. Worth every penny, for sure. I love you all!
