YAY! I got my outline done! Goodness gracious this was not fun, aha. My mermaid turned out absolutely beautiful though, I adore her! Josh Legend was patient, gentle, and ultimately did incredible work. He meshed my two sketches better than I could have imaged, and I adore my new tattoo.
Vicious Ink is definitely somewhere I'd recommend.
The Experience; This is my first big tattoo. I have two other smaller tattoos; One on my rip cage of a maple leaf, and an infinity symbol on the back of my neck. I had an idea on what to expect, but come on, it's going to hurt like a bword. It did, but I made it through without crying, or screaming in pain, aha. The best analogy I can come up with to describe the pain is, it's much like a sunburn being scratched, mixed with the stinging sensation of getting a shot-just prolong that feeling. The more tender areas of my thigh hurt worse than the outer skin; such as my inner thigh, and the tail bit, closer to my hip bone. Definitely not fun, but definitely worth it. If you're planning on getting a tattoo, I would highly recommend starting small, and building your way to something bigger. The aftermath of a tattoo can be just as painful. I'm on my second day and the scabbing has just begun. Tattoos are open wounds, so you have to not only constantly keep them clean and avoid tanning, and swimming and such, but remember it will hurt like a wound. Constant burning sensation, and it stings like a bumble when bumping into something, haha. Over all, I have no regrets.
I'll be going in for shading in the next few weeks, so I'm really looking forward to the finished piece.
Welp, that was my tattoo experience! I'll post another when my shading gets done! woo!
